Liam began learning the classical guitar at 8 years old. At 11, he was accepted into the classical guitar department at Lavilla School of the Arts middle school under the direction of Don Casper. During his eighth grade year, he was a member of the Ashley Street Jazz band at Lavilla School of the Arts with whom he performed at the 2019 Midwest Clinic in Chicago, IL. In high school, he attended the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts as a classical guitar major under the direction of Dr. Morgan Stuart. Currently, Liam is fulfilling a bachelors degree in classical guitar performance studying with Dr. Silviu Ciulei.
Throughout his time at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts (DASOTA), Liam had the opportunity to travel and perform as both a classical guitar soloist and rhythm guitarist of the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts Jazz Ensemble 1 (DASOTA JE1) and DASOTA Jazz Combo. Liam won 1st prize in both the 2023 East Carolina University Classical Guitar Youth Competition and 2024 University of Florida Guitar Youth Competition. As a member of DASOTA JE1, Liam performed at the 2023 Jazz Education Network in Orlando, FL and the 2024 Western International Band Clinic in Seattle, WA. With the DASOTA Jazz Combo, he performed at the 2024 Jacksonville Jazz Festival. Liam was selected for the Florida Allstate Classical Guitar Ensemble in 2022, 2023, and 2024 and was a member of the 2024 Florida Allstate Jazz Ensemble.
As a junior in college, Liam is a member of multiple ensembles within the UF School of Music. These include the classical guitar ensemble, Jazz Ensemble 1, and Mundo Flamenco (flamenco music ensemble). During the 2025 summer term, he had the opportunity to study music history and guitar performance abroad in Salzburg, Austria. Liam placed as a semifinalist in the 2025 University of Florida Guitar Competition and the Columbus State University Undergraduate Competition in 2026.
Liam currently performs jazz music every Tuesday 9 - 11 pm at The Bull in Gainesville, FL.
